Word From Dave
A few days ago, the NewSong site pastors sat in a house in Big Bear discussing potential sermon series for the coming year. One idea had to deal with "UglyBetty," a popular show that highlights a young Latina who wouldn't be considered physically beautiful to some but truly has a beauty that is attractive to many.
Our reflections caused me to wonder what is real beauty?
How would you define it?
How would God define it?
In a sermons series we will do next year, we will address such questions but here are some initial thoughts:
While words may not lead us to a true understanding of beauty, perhaps pictures do.
This past week I have a few pictures ingrained in my mind of true beauty. These moments of beauty I experienced inspired and invigorated me to what God has for us in the future. So here's beauty to me:
Healing and Protection
Laughter
Life Transformation!
CWoWs
Living according to our purpose.

Rediscovering the Ultimate Craving Thousand Pines in
Crestline, California is a significant stepping-stone in my journey of faith. One, I met and accepted the Lord as my Savior there when I was just a senior in high school. Chosen I've been in the ER plenty of times. There were times when I had to have my bones repaired, head examined, and chest x-rayed, but through the tears and the embarrassing whining about the pain, I managed to come out of that same ER time after time, alive. Click here to read more. |
| NewSong Los Angeles Cafe Night On Friday, May 25th, about 80 people got together and had a real intimate time of worship and fellowship. The night started off with sounds of laughter and greetings, and coffee orders yelled over the counter. From there, we were ushered into God's presence through songs of worship. Michael Eubanks, Irene, Albert and Gio Garcia each led us into deeper levels of worship to God. There were no time limits, no agendas and no structures that blocked the evening. Just a night where we were all Free to Worship. |  |
