Brennan Manning
Brennan Manning has spent the past 40 years helping others experience the reality of God's love and grace-- it's at the heart of everything he's written and done. A recovering alcoholic and former Franciscan priest, Brennan's spiritual journey has taken him down a variety of different paths: he has taught seminarians, spoken to packed arenas, lived in a cave and labored with the poor in Spain, and ministered to "shrimpers" in Alabama. He is perhaps best known as the author of the contemporary classics, The Ragamuffin Gospel, Abba's Child, and Ruthless Trust. His most recent title is The Importance of Being Foolish.
"The Lord said he wished me to be a fool, the like of which was never seen before," said Francis of Assisi. A gentle revolution will come through the little cadre of Christian fools who are willing to overthrow the established order by rearranging their lives around the mind of Christ. Their quest is transparency through truthfulness, and their lifestyles will be shaped by the gospel of Jesus Christ.
